The inspiration to create Splintered Light Press and the quarterly journal Resonance was given to Founding Director Micah Lunsford at the opening of 2015. At the center of the Resonance project is the desire to cultivate a living community of thoughtful believers who love to reflect on the truth, goodness and beauty of God and seek to respond with incarnational discipleship. As both the press and journal take shape, it is our desire that they are both given back to God as an offering of praise. May everything that is done through them bring glory to God and bind His disciples more closely together into the one Body of Christ.
The Journal’s Purpose
To promote reflection and response among Christian believers who are committed to ecumenical generosity, historic orthodoxy, and growing closer to God.
The Journal’s Shape
Each journal issue will have a theologically fruitful theme, which unifies all of the journal’s elements into a cohesive whole.
The basic structure of the journal should remain stable yet responsive to the fresh guidance of the Holy Spirit in each season.
Every element of the journal should be derived from theological reflection and stand in accord with the faith commitments stated in What We Believe.
The arts both visual and verbal should take a key place in the journal but all of them should be theologically informed and informative. Specifically, all artistic elements must reveal truth, beauty, and goodness in their own right and they must relate to the theological theme of the journal issue.
Each journal issue and all of its constitutive elements must meet a high-quality standard and be formatted according to set guidelines.
