We live in a culture that rushes along at such an anxious pace that the very concept of shalom is often dismissed as a fanciful illusion. Society’s impatience is so pervasive that it is all too easy to begin assuming that frenetic activity and a packed schedule are the norms of human experience. Without a resolute intention to the contrary, we can easily find ourselves marching to the relentless beat of our secular culture even while trying to proclaim a radically different gospel.
It is into this milieu that Resonance is offered as a new voice in defense of the contemplative. Resonance is a substantial theological publication seeking to be accessible to church communities, small groups, and students of all kinds. We greatly appreciate and desire to engage the work of professional scholarship, but in a way that does not require an advanced degree of specialization in order to join the conversation.
We invite you to join us in our endeavor to cultivate a community of Christian disciples committed to loving God, loving neighbor and having great conversations about how to love both more fully as each day passes.
