Learning is an act of discipleship. God has created us to learn and grow not just through acquiring knowledge, but by connecting that knowledge to our own lived experiences. In other words, our faith becomes real when it is acted upon in our everyday lives; and as we act upon that faith, our knowledge and conviction deepens and grows.
The exercises in the Learning Guide are best completed in a small group, where dialogue, questions, and stories can flow in a respectful and safe environment. Consider appointing a facilitator to guide the conversation in a timely manner and to ensure that the discussion remains relevant to people’s experiences, includes everyone and their diverse viewpoints, and challenges people to engage their knowledge by finding an immediate context to apply their learning.
This Learning Guide accompanies articles and artistic content in Resonance, Volume 4.3: “The Trinity.” In this volume, we explore the mystery and wonder of the holy Trinity: Father, Son, Holy Spirit; Three-in-One; the Triune God of grace. Trinitarian theology remains a defining factor of Christian orthodoxy, even as understanding and explanation of this central doctrine ultimately remains something of a paradox. Nonetheless, Christian history, liturgy, theology, and experience continues to bear witness to the essential reality of the community within the Godhead. With this theme, we embrace the mystery, in order to cultivate faith that seeks understanding for fellowship with the Father, through the Son, in power of the Holy Spirit!
Thank you for supporting Resonance. We pray that God speaks to you through this collection of theological reflections.
