John Friberg

has served with various humanitarian agencies in Nepal, Myanmar, and in several locations in China, where he currently lives with his wife and son. He has worked with rural infrastructure projects to train local staff and villagers in building trail bridges, water supply systems, schools, and hydropower plants. More recently he has taught engineering and worked in disaster reilief. An awareness of how “average” citizens in these places experience life’s struggles, in a changing world with trends and crises that are far beyond their control, has given him an appreciation of the common reference point that Christian believers have in Jesus, across vastly different personal circumstances, cultural backgrounds, and economic contexts.
