Julie Swarstad Johnson is a poet and printmaker who lives in Tucson, Arizona. Educated at Penn State (M.F.A. in Creative Writing) and the University of Arizona (B.A. in Anthropology and Creative Writing), she is the author of a poetry chapbook, Jumping the Pit. Her book reviews appear regularly at Harvard Review Online. She works as a Library Specialist at the University of Arizona Poetry Center, home to a world-class collection of contemporary poetry. In February/March 2018, she will be the Artist in Residence at Gettysburg National Military Park, where she will write about historic peace churches during the Civil War.
